Beauty Camera Face Makeup — Try a Full Look Without Touching a Brush ๐
Most beauty apps give you one slider labelled Beauty and hope you never ask what it does. Beauty Camera Face Makeup goes the other way. It finds the face in your photo, maps the lips, eyes, brows and jawline, then hands you eighteen separate tools that each know exactly which part of the picture they belong to. Lip colour lands on the lip contour. Eyeshadow follows the eye socket. Contour reads the cheekbone. Nothing is a filter smeared over the whole frame.
Android 9 and newer · face detection runs on the device · free, with a PRO upgrade that removes ads
Two ways in
The home screen keeps the decision small. A promo carousel sits up top, and below it two cards do all the work:
- Makeup — start from a picture. Take a new selfie or pick one from the gallery, and the editor opens on it.
- Camera — go straight to the live AR selfie camera and try a mask before you shoot.
A third pill opens Settings, where the language picker, the developer page, the privacy policy and the purchase information live. There are no ads on Settings or on anything you can reach from it.
Eighteen tools, six kinds of control
The tab strip along the bottom of the editor runs left to right through all eighteen categories. They are not eighteen versions of the same slider — the panel changes shape depending on what the tool actually does.
- One tap
- Auto Retouch Three finished looks — Natural, Sweet and Glam — that set several layers at once. The fastest way to see what the app can do.
- Intensity
- Skin Smoothener · Nose Beauty · Teeth Whitener · EyeBag Removal · Brighten One slider, 0 to 100. Push it until it looks like you on a good day, then stop.
- Colour only
- Foundation Eight base tones from fair to deep, blended over the skin rather than painted on it.
- Pattern + colour
- Lip Color · Eyeliner · Eyelash · Eyebrow · Eye Shadow · Contour · Blush · Eye Color A switch at the top of the panel flips between the shade list and the pattern list, so you choose the shape first and the colour second — the way you would at a counter.
- Reshape
- Face Slimmer · Enlarge Gentle warp amounts around the jaw and the eyes. Small numbers read as flattering; large ones read as edited.
- Tap to fix
- Acne Removal No slider at all. Tap a blemish and it heals from the skin immediately around it. Tap the next one.
The shade card
Sixty-six shades sit across eight palettes, each one tuned to the feature it belongs to — lip reds never appear in the brow list, and brow browns never appear on the lips. Every palette opens with a None chip, so removing a layer is one tap and never an undo hunt.
Lip Color · 12 shades · 5 finishes

Same shade, different pattern, completely different face.
It finds the face before it paints anything
When a photo opens, the app runs on-device face detection once and keeps the result. What it gets back is not a rectangle — it is the contour of each lip, each eye, each brow and the outline of the face, which is what lets a lip colour stop at the lip line instead of bleeding onto the chin.
If there is more than one face in the shot, a face-select screen appears first and you choose whose look you are editing. If there is no face at all, the app says so plainly rather than applying makeup to a wall.
All of this happens on your phone. Photos are not uploaded for processing, and they leave the device only when you share a finished picture yourself.
Compare, undo, start over
Every change snapshots the whole layer stack, so undo and redo work across categories, not just the tool you are holding. Compare shows the untouched original for as long as you hold it. Reset clears everything after a confirmation, and closing the editor with unsaved work asks before it discards. You can pinch and drag the photo at any point to work closer in.
The AR selfie camera
The camera opens on the front lens with a carousel of masks along the bottom. Face tracking runs live, so the mask follows you rather than sitting where your face used to be.
- Flower Crown
- Tiara
- Halo
- Butterfly
- Hearts
- Cartoon
- Dog
- Panda
The two highlighted above react when you open your mouth — the app prompts you on screen when one is selected. The shutter captures the preview and the mask together, exactly as you see it, and hands the result to the save screen. Flip switches to the rear lens whenever the selfie is not the point.
From camera roll to saved look
- Choose Makeup or CameraMakeup starts from an existing photo; Camera starts from a live selfie with a mask already on.
- Pick the faceTake the shot or select a photo from the gallery. With several people in frame, tap the face you want to edit.
- Layer the lookStart with an Auto Retouch preset, then adjust individual categories — shade, pattern, intensity. Compare against the original as often as you like.
- Save and shareSave writes a JPEG to your gallery; Share opens the system sheet for Instagram, WhatsApp, Messages or anywhere else.
What actually gets saved
The editor does not export the preview you were looking at. On save it re-composites every enabled layer onto the photo at its own resolution, so the file you keep is the full-size picture with the makeup on it, not a downscaled screenshot of the editing canvas.
Finished images land in your gallery under Pictures/BeautyMakeup, in their own album, where the Photos app and every gallery browser will pick them up.
A note on languages
The interface ships in 27 languages, including English (US, UK, Australia, India), Spanish (Spain, Latin America, US), Portuguese (Portugal, Brazil), French (France, Canada), German, Italian, Dutch, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian, Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese in both Simplified and Traditional scripts.
The picker lives in Settings and is per-app: choosing Vietnamese here does not change anything else on your phone, and right-to-left languages lay the interface out accordingly.
Questions we get
- Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
- No. Face detection and every makeup layer are computed on your phone. A picture leaves the device only when you tap Share and send it yourself.
- Does the makeup look obviously fake?
- That is up to the sliders. Every layer has an intensity, and the presets are deliberately conservative — Natural is a light retouch, Glam is the loud one. Hold Compare to check yourself against the original before you save.
- Is it free?
- Yes. The camera, all eighteen editor tools, saving and sharing are free and supported by ads. The PRO upgrade removes the ads.
- Which Android versions are supported?
- Android 9 (Pie) and newer, built against the current Android SDK. Saving works on scoped storage without asking for broad file access.
- Can I use it on a photo of someone else?
- Yes — pick any photo from your gallery, and if it has several faces, choose one on the face-select screen. Only that face gets the makeup.
